Words that are made by merging two other words, for example, “motel” is “motor” + “hotel”. 

This doesn’t happen much in Persian, but it is a common feature in English.  If you have examples of Persian portmanteau words (or how to say it in Persian) please comment!  Also, enjoy my favorite Persian portmanteau word:  simorqanize - سيمرغالنظم
